Russ has a big heart, a gentle sense of humor and a Patch Adams philosophy to eye care.  He is also a rare find in this area as he is a native of West Palm Beach, Florida.   Graduating from Hillsborough Community College in Tampa with a degree in Opticianry Dispensing Russ began his long career in optical management, sales and service.  Russ’s optical expertise is matched only by his personable and humorous interaction with his patients. On any given day, Russ’s biggest challenge will be to find the perfect neck ware.  This long term tradition in wearing colorful, unique ties bodes well as a great conversation starter with his patients and generates a warm, friendly atmosphere in the Optical Department.  It does make birthday and Christmas gifts an easy decision for friends and family, the only difficulty is find one that Russ doesn’t currently have. 

Dedication to family and community keeps Russ busy when he is not working. Caring for the family poodles, Abby and Mia is another joy for Russ at home.  An avid outdoorsman he enjoys hiking and backpacking, and experienced the scenery in such places as New Mexico, North Carolina and Georgia.  Russ has been affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America for over thirteen years and also enjoys wood-working as a hobby.

Recently Russ has committed to assisting the Bonita Springs Lions Club with their vision program for the needy.  Twenty plus years in the eye care industry, has deemed Russ one of the best in his field. Snead Cataract is extremely proud to have him as their Optical Manager and part of the team.

Nancy joined Snead Cataract over eight years ago, with a diverse background in the eye care industry.  With expertise as a frame representative, a vendor, a buyer and formal training in factory manufacturing of eyewear Nancy’s well-rounded training has her in the fore front of opticians in southwest Florida.  Nancy received her AS Degree as a Medical Technician from Tampa College, but chose to follow her passion for sales, yet adding her personal touch of caring for others in the field of eye care.  Being with family, decorating and entertaining friends keeps Nancy very active when she is at home.  Her knack for landscaping provides her with the outdoor time she needs to get rejuvenated after a long week inside.  Returning to work on Monday morning, Nancy projects her warm smile and soft caring demeanor to staff and patients as well and follows the mission statement of SNEADCataract to treat others as friends and family.  Over twenty-five years in her chosen profession and her dedication to making everyone’s life a little better makes Nancy a vital and integral part of SNEADCataract.

Terri’s humorous approach to life can produce a smile even in the toughest situations.  Co-workers refer to her as having “a heart of gold” when it comes to helping others. This personality trait definitely follows Terri into the work environment with over thirty-one years of caring for her patients eye care needs.  Spending time with her family is the high point of Terri’s time when she is not at work.  Her love of horses and riding rodeo events is a family affair with 2 of her 3 children carrying the passion into the future.  Terri has been a part of the SNEADCataract family for well over ten years and was named “Employee of the Year” in 2002.  This honor is bestowed on the employee who exhibits outstanding patient care and goes above and beyond the normal work day load.  The prestige of this award is even more treasured as the employee is voted on by their peers.

Barbara is the newest member to the optical team at SNEADCataract.

Barb’s extensive background in customer service and over 17 years in the field of eye care make her a valuable addition to our staff.  Skilled in laboratory work, Barb is excellent in assisting our patients with the most flattering style of frames and lens selection for their vision needs. 

In her time off, Barb enjoys spending time with her husband at the ballet, museum or attending the local performing arts center. On a personal note Barb loves to read and sit by the lake at her home just to enjoy the wildlife.  Travel includes trips to Pennsylvania and Orlando to visit with her daughters and grandchildren whenever time allows.
